Overview - Barcelona has it all. A great climate, amazing architecture, history and culture galore, lively nightlife, good shopping, beaches, fine food and, of course, two top class football clubs including arguably the greatest of them all - FC Barcelona.

Airports & Transfers

Barcelona Airport - seven miles south west of the city centre linked by trains every 30mins (2.50Euros), Aerobus every 10mins (3.75Euros), hourly N17 night bus (1.25Euros). Taxi's 25Euros.

Girona Airport - 64 miles north east of Barcelona, linked by an irregular bus service costing 12Euros single or 21Euros return.

Reus Airport - 66 miles south west of Barcelona, linked by buses costing 11Euros single, 18Euros return.

Nightlife - Atmospheric bars and clubs abound in the Barri Gotic. Cross La Rambla into the Raval for grittier, grungier nightspots or head north to Gracia for a tourist-free boho selection of small bar-lined plazas. In summer check out the numerous beach bars down by the sea from Barceloneta to Port Olimpic.

Shopping - Major designer shops line the Passeig de Gracia uphill from the huge Placa Cataluyna, whilst smaller independent boutiques are clustered around the Born district. Vinyl junkies and vintage heads should check out the Raval or Barcelona's biggest flea market, Els Encants, which takes place at Placa de la Glories on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
