Tickets - Newly promoted to La Liga, Almeria will be expecting good crowds at their newish 23,000 Estadio Mediterráneo, so get down to the ticket office as early as possible.
Stadium - Built to host the 2005 Mediterranean Games, the Estadio Mediterráneo lies a mile or so outside the city centre beside the road to the airport.
Overview - Surrounded by desert and sea in the south-east corner of Spain, Almeria is famous for having more hours of sunshine than anywhere else in Europe. It can now boast a football club in La Liga too, thanks to the recent promotion of its club Union Deportiva Almeria.
Airport & Transfers - Almeria Airport - linked by bus no. 20 which takes 15mins and leaves every 45mins. Tickets are 0.85Euro. Taxi's 15Euros.
Nightlife - Almeria is one of the few cities in Spain where tapas are still served free with your drinks, so make the most of it by going on a tapas crawl, or tapeo, of the countless bars around Calle de las Tiendas and Calle Real in the north of the city centre.
Shopping - Shops are mostly clustered around Calle de las Tiendas and Calle Real.
