Tickets - Officially, you need a Club Card in order to buy tickets for the ArenA. Foreign fans can buy one for 6Euros either at the ticket office at the ground (you'll need your passport and a photo), or in advance by emailing your details to info@ajax.nl, (better if you're organised enough). The tourist information desk in town should also be able to help. Almost every game sells out, so try and get in there as quickly as possible. Cup matches give you a slightly better chance as season ticket holders aren't automatically admitted to these games.
Stadium - The futuristic looking, 52,000 seat Amsterdam ArenA rises out the run-down, south-eastern suburb of Bijlmer like a spaceship from outer space. Take the no. 50 or 54 metro from Centraal Station to either Strandvliet or Bijlmer Arena, both of which are directly outside the stadium.
Ultra Culture - The F-Side are Ajax's famed crew, but most of the noise these days comes from Vak 410 (Block 410), in the corner of the upper tier at the opposite end of the ArenA.
Overview - "....It's full of sex, drugs and Ajax. Oh, Amsterdam is full of fun." Enough said?
Airports & Transfers - Schiphol Airport - ten miles south-west of the city centre, connected by trains every ten minutes. Taxi's 30Euros.
Nightlife - The red light district is packed with bars and "coffee" shops (amongst other things). Simply head straight out of Centraal Station and veer left - you can't miss it. If you'd prefer to avoid the tourists and stag parties and do as the Amsterdammers do, then head right out of Centraal instead, to the Jordaan district. Lots of good bars here, as there are in the De Pijp area, south of the city centre.
Shopping - The Jordaan has some great independent clothes shops, while the nearby Nine Streets are good for retro clobber.
PC Hooftstraat
in the Museum Quarter is where you'll find all the designer stores.
